Today, the 12th of November, 2018, just as we have celebrated the centennial of Remembrance Day across the Commonwealth of Nations in a special way marking the centennial year of the conclusion of the First World War, and in the United States mark Veterans Day with our great gratitude focused on all the military veterans of the United States Armed Forces, we have lost one of the remaining veterans of our greatest generation who served in the ranks of the victorious armed forces of the Allies during the Second World War, and a man who will be forever be connected to the pop culture consciousness of our present generations as the father behind the sucess of Marvel Comics and of its movie and television arm, Marvel Studios, for many years. It is with profoud sadness that I write to you now on the sad and tragic news that has come out today of the death of Stan Lee, the Chairman Emeritus of Marvel Comics, due to his old age, in the thrice Olympic City of Los Angeles, in the state of California, United States of America.
The passing today to our deepest sadness and greatest regret of this great man, comic artist and producer, who as veteran of the United States Army Signal Corps during the Second World War resolutely took part in the road to the great victory of the Allies against international fascism, and later on carried proudly the Stars and Stripes to glory as the chairman of Marvel Comics, being responsible for the creation of many memorable comic characters that have become forever connected to modern day pop culture and thus spread have over the years the awareness of the comic industry of the United States of America, and thus through his great efforts in making his firm the world’s largest comic company, and by the many years he helped bring these characters to life on television sets and movie screens not only in the United States of America and Canada, but all over the world, is the greatest ever loss of our peoples, of our culture and the arts, movies and television, and the profound loss of the people of the United States of America as a great representative of American popular culture to millions of people everywhere, for by the many hours of immeasurable work he did making and producing comics with the help of some of the great writers and comic illustrators from all over the country, his many movie and television apperances, visits to pop culture conventions, and the many years travelling the world as a honored representative of the country and her people.
Born Stanley Martin Lieber 95 years ago from a humble Jewish family, his military service during the Second World War in the United States Army thus made him part of that greatest generation who helped open the road to the great victory over the Axis Powers. As a comic artist, author and illustrator, his many works made as the man behind the Marvel brand made him a household name and the one responsible for many memorable characters that have become thus the great Marvel family of superheroes, whose stories inspired millions all over the world to do acts of kindless, charity, bravery and courage everyday. And as the leader behind the great success of Marvel Comics and Studios, he led the way to bringing that success story into television and the movies, as the man who helped bring Marvel into its humble origins into an international hit franchise of comics, movies and television programming, having thus helped make known the greatness of American creative arts and American produced comic books and their movie and television adaptations, and the people who worked behind the screens to make them possible, to millions of people everywhere in the world.
Today thus is a sad day for our country and people and a day of sadness shared by millions of people everywhere as they mourn with the entire Marvel family and the Walt Disney Company in its entirely, together with its member firms, as they remember the life and legacy of this great man who has left us an immortal and everlasting memory in our hearts and minds, most of all, as the man who entertained and inspired millions as the leader of Marvel Comics and the man behind the ever popular and well love movies and television programming Marvel has produced, which have reached millions of people over the years.

On behalf of all the people of the United States of America and Canada, and in the name of all the billions of people of the free world I therefore send our sympathies and profound eternal gratitude to the people of the city of Los Angeles, the entire Greatest Los Angeles area and the state of California, to the people of the city and state of New York, and to the men and women of the Walt Disney Company, Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics, 20th Centruy Fox, Fox Television and the American Broadcasting Company and their international partner television channels and movie distributors on the passing of this great legend who lived and worked among us, who for many years as the face of Marvel and the man behind the many comic superheroes known by millions all over the world, made known of the greatness of the American people, the rich heritage, arts and culture of this country and the inspiring stories of people with extraordinary gifts chosen to become the defenders of humanity, and thus through his hard work, dedication, courage in battle in times of war, love of country and the deep appreciation for the great spirit of the American people, especially those who like him served in the ranks of the armed forces, will be remembered and honored in every way by all of us today and for generations to come. And to all who will have paid their last respect and tributes on these hours after this sad day and in the days to come in Los Angeles, New York and in every corner of the world, my sincere thanks for your prayers, sympathies and heartfelt support you’ve all given in this sad time in our history to the Lee family, his friends, loved ones and fellow comics workers, to the Walt Disney Company, Marvel Studios, Marvel Comics, Fox Television and the American Broadcasting Company and to all who worked with him in making these great works possible, for as one people, in this sad time of parting, we say our sad farewells to one among us, a legend in the comic world, a creator of superheroes, one of the last among the Greatest Generation and a father among all of us, who by his work flew the sacred flag of the American homeland and spread through his work the values lived by generations of Americans and the great spirit of the nation to millions all around the world.
